Customer Reviews about Alamo Heights Pediatrics

  • I have 4 children from 15 months to 15 years old and have been patients of AHP for 8 years. Everytime we have a visit with Dr Irvin or one of her amazing Nurse Practitioners we leave feeling confident and satisfied with the care our child received. From the moment we walk in to the office we are welcomed and expected. Morgan always knows who we are and has our child's chart ready for the visit. We recommended AHP to my sister in law and now my two nephews are patients there as well and she is just as happy. No practice is going to be perfect and error free, because human beings work there, but we have NEVER had a single experience of error or "attitude" that has overshadowed the overall experience and care our children get from this place.

  • Dr Irvin was my doctor as a child and is now the doctor of my newborn son. She was thorough when taking care of me as a child and is the same with my son. The variety of samples the office provides is amazing and an absolute life saver when trying to find something for a sensitive baby. They are also extremely supportive of a new single mom who is figuring things out as she goes. The billing department is polite, which is rare for any doctors office. The receptionist always has a smile when she greets us. All in all, it's a great practice. The fish tanks are pretty awesome too.

  • I was lucky enough to have a friend recommend Alamo Heights Pediatric to me, when I was dissatisfied with our previous pediatric care center. (The doctor was great but the staff was terrible!) Alamo Heights Pediatric welcomed us from the first moment we walked in and remembered my children the second time we visited. The nurses are so comforting and very knowledgeable. They make my children smile and feel better instantly! The PA's have been impressively on point every time we've had to be squeezed in. Dr. Irvin is extremely thorough and supportive. She leaves no detail out or un-checked. She totally meets all of my mommy-expectations. I am confident in her treatment, concern and overall advice. My children absolutely love seeing her, even despite the reasons we have to be there. The service and treatment has always put my anxious-mom mind at ease. After my experiences and talk amongst my mom friends, there is no doubt that Dr. Irvin and her team are the best in town! Thank you Alamo Heights Pediatric!!

I worked for Dr. Irvin for almost 8 years about 2 years ago she cut our hours, this January she cut them even more. I could no longer stay afloat financially so I filed for unemployment until I could find another job at a full time position. When I did find another job. I left Dr. Irvin's under good terms. She even asked me if my children were still going to be her patients. I told her they were and she stated good. A few weeks later I found out that Dr. Irvin was appealing my unemployment. We had a phone interview last week with unemployment to see what unemployment decides. I then received a letter stating that after careful consideration it is their judgment that they can no longer serve my medical needs and ask me to find a new pediatrician. This is really unprofessional and as a doctor she took a oath to uphold ethical standards and to care for her patients. My 3 children are all affected by this; my oldest daughter and son have been patients of hers for seven years and my youngest daughter has been a patient of hers since she was born. My daughters had a upcoming appointment which was canceled by her office, my 4 yr old was to receive her vaccines for school and they wont see my children. My son has been diagnosed with ADD and dyslexia and receives medication. I can not get a copy of their medical records unless I pay a fee of $25 for each child. How is this justified? How is this ethical? How is this caring for her patients? She did not provide a reason as to why my children can no longer be her patients. She is hurting my children. How will my 4 year old react to someone shes never met and is uncomfortable with, and then to give her vaccines. Where is the doctors care?
