  I came to San Antonio Dermatology for a appointment consultation I had scheduled. I am looking for a great dermatology place and had high hopes for this one due to it being an "association" and therefore successful enough to survive and become a chain. However, I walk in and it's a dark room that looks similar to that of a hospital but it's also spacious so that's okay. I wait to talk to the front desk to sign in for my appointment, and am much less than greeted by a receptionist. This woman does not introduce herself, does not even bother to welcome me, did not smile at me once during the entire time talking to her or even offer me a degree of politeness. She snapped at me and in a almost condescending manner went through the motions of first name, last name and didn't even hand me my paperwork to fill in, but just slid it on the counter. She didn't make eye contact or hold a polite conversation without trying to multitask or fidget. She has a "better than you" attitude and in general comes across as very rude with no social skills. This receptionist was so rude that I considered walking out because if the front of house staff can be this rude, then what will the rest be like? Front of house staff makes the first impression, and is important to the success and environment of the dermatology. Upon saying this, if you cannot do basic customer service or be polite when you are paid to do so, then do not be in the customer service industry. I asked a simple question after handing my paperwork in if I should go and sit because she didn't bother to say anything when I handed it to her, and I got snapped at with a short "yes." I mean, come on!!! It's not THAT hard to be nice to a customer. And I am a very friendly person so I just didn't get how someone could be so rude. I absolutely do not recommend San Antonio Dermatology because Mellissa managed to ruin my experience and impression of the place. It gets 1 star because the nurse or qualified physician who attended my actual appointment was nice and helped soften the irritation from the ever so rude Mellissa.
