  Dr Mark Casillas is an excellent doctor. He gives patients the time necessary to explain the situation, sometimes that leads to long wait times, but it is worth it. Prior to finding Dr Mark Casillas, we had visited and done surgery with two other doctors (including one doctor who had almost perfect ratings) that promised amazing results...they both fell short by a large margin. Who wants their child to go through failed surgeries? No one! When we were recommended to Dr Mark Casillas, obviously, I was hesitant because of our experience with other doctors. Dr. Mark Casillas did not promise perfect results, he was honest. It was hard to head the truth, but I prefer to hear the truth before the surgery than be disappointed later. My sons surgery is very complex since he has tarsal coalition. Once the bones mature, the surgery is very hard to perform, so I felt we were running out of time. We went ahead and put our entire trust on him and did the surgery and results were just as expected. He did not over promise, but delivered just as expected. We are now a few months away from performing surgery on the opposite foot (the foot that the other two doctors failed to correct properly). He's already told me that foot will be more complex because he has to correct the failed surgeries and then fix the tarsal coalition. I'm nervous, I'm scarred for my son. He's already pointed out the cons, which are very hard to hear. However, I do appreciate his honesty and will put my whole trust on him as he operates on the left foot. Like I mentioned, you will wait, but it will be worth it. If a 13-year-old who prefers to be playing and can barely stay sitting can wait, I surely can. Take a book to read, time will go by faster.
