  I have been a medical mystery and in serious pain for years (after having been hit by a drunk driver while sitting at a red light). My medical issues are complicated and very unique. Dr Duncan has helped me to identify issues that others had never even heard of. She gave me pointers on how to organize my health records so that all of my doctors can have an easy "snapshot" of data and get to the information they need quickly. (because I have VERY complicated spinal cord issues). Also, I needed to understand "why" the nerve damage that I have led to the symptoms and limitations that I have. The fact that she was a professor that helped to teach this complicated field is a major plus. I like the fact that she is no nonsense and helps to push her patients toward self awareness and improvement and taking responsibility for their own health. She helped me to understand why it so important to come in with questions and concerns written down and thought out. Also that I needed to understand how my insurance plan worked and understand the responsibility of specialists in the medical field so that I could have realistic goals and learn who to go for what issue. That may sound minor and common sense to some people but to me there have been so many aha moments with Dr Duncan that I just can't explain the appreciation. I have enough pain as it is, Dr Duncan and her staff go the extra mile even when they are busy or have other complicated patients to show kindness and professionalism. It makes me want to be a better patient and opens my eyes to absorb every bit of advice and guidance possible. Besides the fact, that I don't know what I would do without her help in managing the hellish pain that I have each day.
